Unique, superior step-counting pedometerDec 16, 2008
By Retired Scientist I often wear a pedometer that counts my steps, in oder to get more exercise. When I can see how many steps I've taken, and have some kind of goal (such as 10,000 per day, which I rarely manage), it helps motivate me to walk more.
I have used four other pedometers, and tried others in stores. The big problem with almost all of them is that they count any kind of vibration. So if you want to count your steps throughout the day, and you are running errands in your car, the pedometer is useless - because the vibration of the car counts just like steps! And none of the darn things have a "pause" button so you can turn it off while you are traveling in a vehicle.
The Treklinq is not perfect in this regard, but it's a lot better than the others. It has a circuit that only counts steps when they are part of a sequence of at least five similar steps - so road bumps and random vibrations when you are driving tend not to get counted.
I would give it five stars if it were more strongly built. I find that the hinged cover sometimes comes off its hinges and you have to snap it back on. And the plastic belt clips can break. Nevertheless, this product functions so well compared with other brands that it's the only one I want to use - I am willing to replace it when it breaks, which happens every year or two on the average.
If you want to count your steps throughout the day, I believe this is the best product on the market.

Good pedometer, great priceApr 25, 2011
By Frog Lady Really nice pedometer, especially for the price! Quite accurate, if you measure your stride correctly. Has the ability to record in kilometers or miles, which is nice unless you think you've walked 3 miles but you've only walked 3 kilometers :-)
Trekling PedometerFeb 24, 2012
By Robert E. Sabo The Trekling Pedometer was very easy to progam and has worked just fine right from day one. It's good to know how many miles I walk every day.
