Used once with a direct flight and handle broken into piecesOct 01, 2009
By Glenda Grant I really liked this luggage and got the rolling backpack with computer carrying space also beside the 22" since I am taveling 2 months. Love this backpack.I should have listened when others mentioned flimsy rolling handle on the bigger bag. I was stuck between the bus in Paris and a taxi stand. Luckily someone helped me. I will have to buy another suitcase to continue my trip. A big pain. I did not know there was a problem with the handle until I was off the Air France bus. I had my things on a cart. I think Amazon or Travelpro owe me a refund. I have travled numerous times to Europe and this never happened with any of my other luggage.

Light, but handle is not stong enoughSep 09, 2010
By Otter I like the size and weight of this for a carry-on, but on my first trip with the Travelpro T-Pro Xtreme 22" I was forced by an airline on my international trip to check the bag. Just as with another reviewer here, the handle was completely broken in two when I retrieved it, even though it was completely collapsed and inside the zipper cover. The T-Pro Xtreme 22" makes a great carry-on if you aren't going anywhere but on a shuttle to a hotel, but the handle is too flimsy for heavy duty use or traveling as checked luggage.

TravelPro 22" Expandable Rollerboard LuggageSep 15, 2008

I am very happy with this piece of luggage for short trips. It is a great size for carry-on yet roomy enough for a week long get away. It is sturdy and can take the abuse given if checked by the airlines. I think it is also very attractive.

By Sweety Tweety Absolutely brilliant. Fits into overhead locker - is a amazingly compact for the amount it packs and is light and easy to move about. We got it in the lime color- not my favorite- but the brilliant choice means we are able to spot our luggage amidst the hundreds of identical luggage at arrivals.
We bought a large case and the rolling duffel- strong sturdy and ready to take us anywhere.
A worthwhile investment.
Handle broken in first tripJun 26, 2011
By Ashley CA I replaced my 10-year old Travel Pro 24 inch hard-sided crew bag with this lighter weight soft-sided 22 inch, and I will not recommend this bag to anyone.
The light weight metal handle felt flimsy when it was fresh out of the box. In the very first trip with this luggage, the handle broke into 2 pieces in the middle of my trip in Europe. I only had about 15 lb of stuff in the bag at that time. The broken parts revealed that this light weight tin-like metal handle was hallow and filled with an apparently not so sturdy plastic material. The handle would need to be replaced entirely when I come home, but I could not continue with the next 20 days of train travel with a luggage without handle. I ended up ditching this brand new luggage there and bought a replacement luggage in Europe.
The soft construction of this luggage is also problematic. Though I only intended to use this luggage as a carry-on, I was forced to check it in on its first flight because the airline would not allow my 22 inch trekking pole to be in a carry-on luggage. This luggage was severely crushed in one corner and permanently damaged after the first flight, possibly from being squeezed by other heavier luggage.
