4great so farJun 21, 2010
By J. Rossiter
Purchased this suitcase to tour Europe with because of it's light weight. It has been very easy to wheel around in trains and buses, along with the extra handles making it easier to pick up when needed. Thinking of buying the smaller size to have also. I would buy this item again! It holds a lot of things.

5Versatile and tough luggageOct 14, 2009
By Morton G. Swimmer
Our family now owns one of these per person, including one previous generation model that must be five years old by now. They have proven themselves to be versatile, easy to operate, stable even on bad surfaces and very tough. We use them with Eagle Creek's packing system most of the time to organize the contents better. There are a few downsides to this sort of luggage to be aware of. Many modes of transportation are set up for ordinary luggage, so it might be hard to get the trunk into the allotted spaces. This has never been a major problem, but I've noticed it while on various trains in Switzerland and Germany. Flights have no problem with the size, but here you have to be conscious that the trunk can pack more that you may have weight allowance. This is one of the reasons we now have one per family member: so that we can distribute the weight. Lastly, carrying the trunk is not as convenient as ordinary luggage, however with all the handles and grips it is is easy to lift it for short distances. Luckily, modern airports and stations are built with few stairs.
On the upside, even the oldest trunk we have has not broken once. The wheels still work just as well as new. All the corners show abrasion through airport mistreatment, but nothing has broken or ripped. The latest generation trunk has been built with stronger feeling material even though the previous generation also did the trick.
We also discovered that we can fit two of these trunks side-by-side in our Mini Clubman so we can use the rather limited space in the Clubman optimally.

5Excellent bag, great style and sturdy tooAug 04, 2010
By Arshad Mohammad "Arshad"
This bag is every travelers dream duffel at a decent price. Its well guarded on all the four corners to protect from all punishment. The compartments are mind blowing, well separated and well cushioned and the bag material and shape is excellent. I did a thorough research and found that the only other competing option was Jansport 29in wheeled duffel. The Jansport wheeled duffel is a real quality bag. The eagle creek scored on two points. It was bigger than Jansport and most importantly the chains are lockable. Jansport does not have lockable chains, a big disadvantage that can kill your peace of mind. The Jansport bag is an Antic bag after all. lol.
Great product!

5Best bag for long tripsFeb 26, 2011
By SD Mom
We have two of these duffels and absolutely love them! We do some long trips and this is perfect. It is a little heavy given the 50 lb limit (I have to say I liked it better when there was no weight limit), but if you pack carefully it still works. My 5 year old is outgrowing her smaller luggage so we're going to buy her one of these now too. I think this model has been discontinued (hence the sale price) but I would still highly recommend it. The newer one has inserts for compartments but is also twice the price.

5Built to last. Needs optional hard case insert (Pelican Storm Case)Nov 21, 2011
By tom0702 "tom0702"
If only all zippers out there were of Eagle Creek quality. I use all kinds of bags (duffles, backpacks, SUP & snowboard bags) and other zippered items (wetsuits, parkas) and this Eagle Creek zipper is the best I've ever encountered. That's kinda important on an exterior luggage compartment since you might not be present if it pops!

Just a thought... I'd recommend that Eagle Creek offer an optional hard case (to save you learning the hard way as I have). I've surrounded my sensitive items with soft clothing items to protect but on two separate trips have encountered some crushing of items inside. I've since purchased a Pelican Storm iM2200 Case, Watertight, Padlockable Case, No Foam or Divider Interior, Black which fits PERFECTLY into the upper compartment. I don't care how many suitcases they stack on it now. They aren't going to crush my items anymore when located in that case. Just a thought though is a bit expensive. But its protecting gear worth north of $1K for me so worth it.
