Nothing better for grease stainsJun 24, 2007
By Bruce Consumer Reports didn't rate Janie highly because it didn't do well at removing certain stains -- I can't remember exactly, but they were things like ketchup or blueberries. OK, maybe it doesn't do those stains, but the manufacturer never claimed it did. It does do a fantastic job at removing grease stains -- the kind of thing I get on my ties and shirts at least once every two weeks. Even if you don't notice a stain until after you've washed the garment, Janie will usually get it out. Also, a stick will last decades. It's great.

Janie Dry Stick Stain RemoverJul 15, 2007
By R. Erdley Excellant at removing stains. Works well on grease or oil based stains in fabrics. Rub on like chalk, wait a few minutes and then brush off. Evidently the chalk absorbs the stain. I keep it in my travel kit and use it to save neck ties and other clothing from those spills encountered at functions and dining.

One of the Best Products You Can Own!May 28, 2008
By Greg From California My dad introduced me to chalk stain remover over 40 years ago in the 1960s - and he had used it since the 1940s. That is 68 years of flawless service. There is nothing better to remove grease stains and splatters from shirts, ties, pants, and any fabric. The spray-ons are imprecise and cover too much of your fabric. Many types of stain removers often leave a residue or a slight mark. I have never tried the chalk on other types of stains, because it's designed for grease absorbtion. My current stick of Jainie is half gone and I have had it for 10 years. I came to this site to purchase one for my brother. Every one should have one.

Janie Dry Stick Laundry Stain Remover- AwesomeJan 03, 2011

"Auburn Tiger"
My wife's Coach purse is her favorite and when it got black grease on the light colored fabric, she was very disappointed. She searched the internet to find a product that sounded like it might work to remove the grease. She ordered the Janie Dry Stick Laundry Stain Remover and it worked like a charm. She rubbed it in and then vacuumed it off. It took a couple of tries, but it removed the entire stain. She also used it on a cloth ottoman which had a grease stain from food. It worked for that stain also. Since this product is dry, it doesn't cause the stain to spread. This is one of the best grease remover products I have ever seen for the applications we have tried. Worth every penney.

Works well on Microfiber SofaSep 29, 2008
By N. Peck The remover worked well on the microfiber sofa for removing an oily stain. It would be great if this came in a size similar to a bar of soap, for larger areas!
