Hands-down best reading lightSep 17, 2009
By Handy Mom I have owned many book lights. This one is the sturdiest and most functional I have come across. It folds flat for travel (no unwieldy gooseneck to snap off!) and I have taken mine around the world several times with no problems. It has also survived my two-year-old playing with it. It uses rechargeable AAAs, which is very convenient; a set of batteries lasts me about a month with nightly use. Unlike some of the ultralight lamps now on the market, the Lumatec is weighted properly to sit on its own without tipping over -- clipping it onto somthing is optional. It also has a clip, a stand, and a lanyard. The lanyard is nice for air travel; you can hang it around your neck. I've had my Lumatec for 6 years and it is still working perfectly. I am buying a second one for my husband so he will stop trying to steal mine.

Hardworking and Functional BooklightMay 23, 2011
By Debbie Ellis I've had my Lumatec booklight for 5 years now. I originally bought this light as part of my emergency response plan gear for times when the power might be out for extened times. Now I take it everywhere I go and use it at home as well. It is great for sitting out on the porch swing in the dark reading a book (less bugs attracted with less light). It goes camping with me as well. The LED bulb puts off no heat so on a warm night in the tent, it doesn't add heat to my environment. If I travel to places with basic accomodations, I don't worry about whether there will be enough reading light, I just bring my own. The light is plenty bright to read for hours with this lightweight light, and it uses so little power that the batteries rarely need replacing. Even though the light is plenty bright, it doesn't spread far from the page of your book, so a sleeping spouse or roommate would not be disturbed. I use the booklight mostly by hanging from its adjustable length lanyard around my neck and positioning the goose neck to the angle that works best for me. The clip and stand options allow additional ways to use the light. This is the best book light I've every used! I hightly recommend it!

Best book light out thereJul 13, 2011
By Natalie This one is by far the best book light out there. I read every night and the batteries need replacing about once a month.
