best sunhat for a child - great coverage; vented area keeps it relatively coolJun 04, 2010

We bought this for our daughter when she was just under 2. We've always tried to be conscientious about using a hat and/or sunscreen, but the brims on many of the children's hats available aren't wide enough to provide much coverage -- you can see that the shade of the brim covers just the forehead and eyes. This one has a wide enough brim to shade the whole face (but doesn't sag down and obscure vision), and the floppy back shades the back of the neck. The loose fit and the vented area seems to make the hat more comfortable -- my daughter still has a slightly sweaty head when we take the hat off, but not nearly as sweaty as with most other hats. The style (which would not look cool on an adult) is very cute on a small child. I think it's worth the price.
